Temporary Accounting Assistant

POSITION: Temporary Accounting Assistant

JOB SUMMARY:
This position reports to the Coordinator Fiscal Services and works in the
area of College Business Office. Work contacts include administrators, faculty,
and staff. This position provides a variety of moderately difficult accounting
and administrative support services.

JOB DUTIES:
Solves fiscal problems and responds to inquiries regarding fiscal policies,
procedures, and activities; works as a liaison between college and district
accounts payable department to reconcile invoice discrepancies and problem
accounts; assists fiscal manager in conducting other fiscal assignments;
reviews documents for completeness, availability of funds, conformity to
regulations and policy; and performs related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge and experience in: accounting analysis and reporting; basic financial
record keeping methods, practices, and terminology; online financial system;
basic Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Access); standard office practices,
procedures, and equipment.
Ability to: operate calculator; make basic mathematical computations rapidly
and accurately; learn to use online financial systems and equipment used
in college business office; work independently while recognizing situations
that need the supervisor's attention; maintain orderly files and records;
and communicate effectively orally.

40 hours per week- Monday through Friday between 8:00am and 5:00pm and Summer
hours would be 4-10 hour days Monday through Thursday.

$12.00 per hour (no benefits)

Starts April 2011 and should continue until July 15, 2011.
